The other morning (don't ask me what morning it was because I am so busy I have no idea) I remembered that I had left my iPod at work and therefore I could not listen to Harry Potter on audio book while I was on my way to school. I was off work that day and I didn't want to leave my iPod there longer than I had to so I convinced Andy to drive me to King Soopers before he went to work so I could get. It is amazing how you can bribe someone who is not a morning person with free coffee.
So we got our coffee and I got my iPod and Andy went to work and I waited to catch my old bus route 12. As the bus pulled up to the stop I noticed that there was a crowed of people standing at the front of the bus. I rode this rout for a year and even when most routes were on strike and other were made to take the 12 it wasn't THIS crowed. Some others and myself tried to squeeze on the bus. It was louder than normal and I was forced to stand.
A whole class of little kids (maybe about 1st or 2nd grade) was on the public bus. Even thought there were three kids to a seat, that usually seats two the bus was packed. I guess they were going to see a play about dinosaurs or something.
Anyway, there I am standing in a spot where I had to reach for the bar above and because I am short I really had to reach. I have my full and heavy backpack on and a hot pumpkin-spice latte in my hand and trying to keep my balance so I would not spill it on the little girls sitting in front of me.
After all the little kids were of the bus it was so quite. I mean it was so quite (like the bus is normally) that everyone still on the bus felt awkward and had to start a conversation about how quite the bus was. This conversation went on for a while... I guess we couldn't let it be that silent again. While standing I wasn't able to put my head phones on and I thought if I put my headphones on while every one was talking that would be rude. So I didn't even get to listen to Harry Potter that morning anyway.
