Late St. Patricks Day

When I was four I had the chicken pox for my birthday. I don't remember much about how it felt. I just remember that I didn't have a birthday party and St. Patricks Day.

My mom had given me and my brother Ben a bath (because we both had the the chicken pox) then I got dressed in a pink an purple stripped shirt. Later we were making green sugar cookies and I realized I wasn't wearing green. I wanted to change my shirt but my mom said that she didn't want me to change shirts because the one I had on already had pink lotion on it. I started getting upset because I thought people were going to pinch me because I wasn't wearing green.

Mom said "Don't worry sweat pea, no one is going to pinch you when you have the chicken pox" Then she told me if I ate a green cookie it would make for the fact that I was not wearing green.

You remember that?? You were four and Ben was only 15 months when you both had the chicken pox. I was seven months pregnant with Michael and oh so tired.
I would now and should of then just let you change your shirt to something green. :) But more than likely just didn't want more laundry to do. I am glad that you remember it fondly with the sugar cookies and all. You are still my sweet pea. I love you,
Mom
